Chilean grape growers combine leaf analysis with irrigation probes

INIA Chile reports leaf sampling in table-grape vineyards in Alto del Carmen to assess vine nutrition and guide growers’ fertilization programmes. The work covers Allison, Flame Seedless, Red Globe and Superior Seedless grapes. Researcher Giovanni Lobos says leaf analysis identifies whether macro- and micronutrient levels are optimal, deficient or excessive, informing vineyard management. The same report includes an account of irrigation probes installed with INIA’s support: a grower says the equipment helped improve irrigation and make better use of water.
